I'm Heather, maker and designer. My studio is in our floating home, a houseboat in Sausalito, CA. After working in graphic design for 15 years, I found a way to do my graphics work at home from spring to fall, while working with clients online from Mexico in the winters. 8 years later, I was gifted a vintage sewing machine. To my surprise, sewing became a new creative outlet, and I designed and sold a collection of bags and accessories at local craft fairs and shops. Sewing opened the door to many other craft and art endeavors over the years.
I am a founding member of Marin Handmade, a local artisan collective in Marin County. I continue to work with graphic design clients, and also work part-time at a boutique specializing in local artisan crafts where I sell some of my work.
